Some of the best barbeque cookers will converge on Texas Motor Speedway April 12-13 during the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 NASCAR tripleheader weekend to secure a hard-earned victory as well.
The Pardi Batch Spirits BBQ Showdown presented by Pit Boss will be a two-day competition in TMS’ GEICO Infield Campground to determine the champions for chicken, ribs and brisket. The winners will be recognized Sunday, April 14, on the Machinery Auctioneers Pre-Race Stage leading up to the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 NASCAR Cup Series race.
Contestants will compete in those three categories – specifically half chicken, pork spare ribs and brisket – with cooking getting underway on Friday, April 12. Judging will take place the following day at 12:00 p.m. (half chicken), 1:30 p.m. (pork spare ribs) and 3:00 p.m. (brisket). The Pardi Batch Spirits BBQ Showdown presented by Pit Boss is sanctioned by the International Barbeque Cookers Association.
The entry fee is $500, and the participant package includes a 40’x40’ infield RV spot with BBQ pit area, two infield weekend wristbands and a tow vehicle pass. Visit Texasmotorspeedway.com for more information or to register for the competition.
A total payout of $5,000 will be divided among the top-10 finishers in each BBQ category. The top-five category winners will be recognized and presented their awards during the pre-race activities leading up to the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400. The 2024 Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 NASCAR tripleheader weekend begins April 12 with the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250 (7:30 p.m. CT on FS1, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90), continues with the April 13 NASCAR Xfinity Series Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 (12:30 p.m. CT on FS1, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90) and concludes with the April 14 NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 (2:30 p.m. CT on FS1, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90 and Lone Star 92.5 – local).
