FORT WORTH, Texas (OCT. 23, 2024) – A full field of sporting clay enthusiasts and celebrities gathered Oct. 16 at Circle T Ranch in Westlake, Texas to raise nearly $60,000 at the 17th annual Speedway Children’s Charities Celebrity Clay Shoot to benefit North Texas children who are homeless, without parents, or victims of trafficking.
Local enthusiasts and business leaders were joined by NASCAR Hall of Fame inductees and Corpus Christi natives Terry and Bobby Labonte, legendary Dallas Cowboys tight end and Super Bowl XII winner Billy Joe Dupree, Dallas-based syndicated radio host and podcaster Jasmine Sadry, and current NASCAR driver and Team Texas Racing School owner David Starr.
The full afternoon kicked off with lunch, followed by the clay shoot and then dinner and an auction on the grounds of the Circle T Ranch just minutes from Texas Motor Speedway.
“I’m very thankful, as always, to Terry and Bobby Labonte for their time and effort as well the same from Billy Joe Dupree, David Starr and Jasmine Sadry for participating in this year’s event,” said Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Executive Director Marissa Chaney. “The generosity of our donors and participants will allow us to serve North Texas children with the most critical of needs We are so grateful to have community partners like Premier Truck Group, Hillwood, and Circle T Ranch who believe in our mission and allow us to meet the needs of local kids who need us most.”
Since its founding in 1997, Speedway Children's Charities at Texas Motor Speedway has distributed more than $12 million in funding to non-profit organizations supporting children in need in Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties.
Speedway Children’s Charities–Texas will host the third annual Geared for Greatness networking brunch and forum on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Irving’s Vegas-style showroom and event center The Rayleigh Underground. The event will be headlined by Dallas Cowboys Chief Brand Officer & Co-Owner Charlotte Jones and City of Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker.
Additional speakers include Klyde Warren Park President Kit Sawers, The Rios Group President Rosa Navejar, and Dallas Cowboys sideline reporter Kristi Scales.
