FORT WORTH, Texas (OCT. 22, 2024) – North Texas race fans donated eight pallets of diapers, wipes, blankets, and $4,500 during the POWRi Racing and Kubota High Limit Racing sprint car events earlier this month at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track to help those devastated by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina.

Dirt track racing fans were provided a free pit pass for each night of the Oct 4-5 POWRi Fall Doubleheader and Oc. 11-12 Kubota High Limit Racing All-In Championship with the donation of an unopened package of children’s diapers or wipes. The $4,500 raised will be used to purchase additional supplies.

Donations were transported Oct. 21 by C.R. England carrier to North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway for distribution to local communities in need. The speedway, part of the Speedway Motorsports family, is located northeast of the Asheville region hit so hard by the hurricane.

“First and foremost, thank you to our amazing race fans who showed great compassion for those in desperate need in Western North Carolina,” said Texas Motor Speedway Executive Vice President & General Manager Mark Faber. “The tremendous outpouring of help showed how strong the racing community is in North Texas and across the country.

“The Texas Motor Speedway donation was part of a continuing effort by Charlotte-based Speedway Motorsports and Speedway Children’s Charities at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway and Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. Friends help friends next door and across state lines so we’re honored to do our part.”

Additional donations were made at Kubota High Limit Racing events at I-70 Speedway (Odessa, Mo.) and Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.), as well as online through Flo Racing, in the days leading up to their TMS Dirt Track event.
